why free legal ambient music?
The Secret Garden Project is the combined work
of Australasian ambient artists who believe that free original ambient
music is a creative process that should be shared with others freely
for personal enjoyment.
The Secret Garden Project is keen to push the
boundaries of musical expression, and while many of the free legal
mp3s on this site loosely fit the organic ambient or dark ambient
genre, many of the tracks have a definite edge that defies classification.

the Secret Garden Project: a spontaneous ambient music collective
The majority of the ambient tracks on this site
are spontaneously improvised. A general idea will be discussed,
then the musicians play imtuitively within a given key or keys.
The same concept applies to any vocals; while some involve improvising
from a poem, in many cases the vocalist is improvising the lyrics
as well as the melody.
The ambient genres are ideal for this style of
improvisation; in essence there is no such thing as a mistake as
the occasional discordant note can still be regarded as part of
the whole. Most tracks have been recorded to a 16 track recording
deck, after which there is digital manipulation and mixing with
software such as Audacity. Selected tracks from a specific session
are often mixed with those from another to produce related yet quite
different music; this is why the majority of tracks are recorded
in a restricted number of keys to allow this merging.

welfare and develops websites to provide free information such as
this website for parents of kids with Autism or Asperger's syndrome.
Climate
change, global warming and other environmental issues website
The majority of scientists agree we humans are
a major cause of climate change and global warming, although not
sure yet if other factors contribute too. In any case, we need to
start doing something about global warming if we don't want our
kids to relocate to another planet (which they will probably stuff
up too, coz we humans don't learn too quickly from our mistakes).
This website provides an objective viewpoint on the whole climate
change problem.
War,
terrorism and peace website
Humans like to kill each other at times, whether
we've been cut off in traffic or been forced off our land by certain
ethnic groups or heavily armed neighbors. This site attempts to
look at war and peace objectively, along with some tips on how we
might be able to make the world a safer place. |
